for everyone

i've always wondered how a girl can have a partner who sticks by her side through thick and thin...i know that by nature, humans are never contented...they try to look for some1 who is prettier, smarter, sexier...and all the -ER adjectives...w/ our society today, generally MEN are not the most loyal/ faithful partners...so im really thankful that i got my Pardz who values me and our relationship a lot...still would somebody...anybody answer me this --- WHY DO MEN CHEAT???? WHAT MAKES THEM STICK TO 1 PERSON????

it so happened that a good friend of mine was online...so I PMed him...this is what he has to say:

lyra cindy paires: hey naa ko question...
: ok
lyra cindy paires: diba chickboy man ka before? dba???
lyra cindy paires: so ryt now...what will make u settle down for ONE partner? like lets just say...kana lifetime jud
: wen m single yes...but not d cheating while i hav a gf naman...only cheated n my live-in partner in manila once and didnt enjoy making her go thru dat
lyra cindy paires: dba? lisod mana ichange?
lyra cindy paires: like dba USUALLY GUYS are never contented
lyra cindy paires: so what makes a guy stick to one girl?

: f she's willing to build us up to be open with her fam as i do build her up towards mine...dat path wud condition me to focus on a more serious relationship
: then
lyra cindy paires: then...
: f i see d woman not dropping her life goals jst to accomodate mine and please me...i take seriously women who still go for their life goals and r smart enuf 2 find ways to fit those in while loving me
lyra cindy paires: wow nice nice
lyra cindy paires: nahan ko na answer ana
: i get turned off with women who drop wat they want kasi jst because they start thinking dat I'm building up 2 b d one...common flaw yan ng pinay women...a good number f women here can get too dependent kasi at times

lyra cindy paires: bitaw i like your answer...iba sa uban
: i take seriously women who can appreciate my more practical way f looking at relationships and not take it against me dat d core f d romantic touches f r relationship dnt come from me...i look 2 my women 2 b d core f d romantic flare f r relationship kasi...i find more fulfillment kasi n bein a good provider 4 my relationships
: dnt get me wrong though, i am willing to be a contributor 2 r romance vibe but it wud b hard 4 it 2 hav me as d core f it coz i hav no problems admitting dat it isnt my strong suit
lyra cindy paires: magcompromise lng tingali mo noh for each other?
: compromise s a core skill naman f a serious relationship

...HAHAY...SO FAR MAO NI PINAKAUNIQUE NAKO NA RECEIVE NA ANSWER... BUT IT MAKES SENSE BAYA PUD...HOPE MUPUYO NANA MGA LAKI NOH? * World Peace*

PS: yeah i know...bisdak kaayo ko sa amo conversation...LOL *tumbling!*

Blog EntryChada Cagayan de Oro Bai!May 23, '08 7:06 PM
for everyone

Last weekend, QA's from Sykes were supposed to do a teambuilding in Camiguin.  One of them invited my cuz -she then invited me to join them.  I was so excited to see the beauty of Mindanao again that i was the first to book the flight.  Then as what usually happens - mausab jud ang plans if hapit na ang event... they decided to have it at Malaspacua instead!!! Syempre, nagpanic na si Lyra...but sa awa ng Diyos, my cuz was nice enough to purchase a ticket for herself...naikog tinagli nako kay nakakuha nako (hehehe...outsider pa jud sa company!)...bida jud!

Together w/ Koki and GIl who were both from CDO, went along w/ the trip...we didnt stay long in CDO since time was really of the essence to get to Camiguin...we only got 2 DAYS to spend it wisely  still, the CDOians were nice enough to tour us around their so called "City of Golden Friendship".  I dont know much about the place except for their famous Whitewater Rafting or their Limketkai or Xavier University.  I just noted down some unique descriptions that this city has compared to other urban areas in the Philippines.

But first, i had to buy coffee from the nearest convenience store as my great defense from stress:

Most of the taxi cabs in CDO are Toyota Altis.   SOSYAAAL!!!  A lot of these cars pass the major streets.  Locals prefer to take taxis with aircon units that function extremely well.  Also, the jeepneys are equipped with other amenities.  People will not take a ride if they dont have sterios or radios...ayos kaayo ang transpo!

Hey how come the packaging of Marlboro is different here? Candylicious ang dating..hehe!hmmm...on second thought, murag sachet sa shampoo diay

When Koki heard i was craving for shawarma, he bragged that CDO sells the best one there is.  Anyone familiar w/ Oro Shawarma? Well, too bad it was a Sunday - so the store was closed. WAY AYO!!!  so we just went to Butcher's Best BBQ... S U P E R yummy ang food esp ang Tuna BBQ and affordable jud...YUM-O!

and the most awaited part...GEAR UP coz it's WHITEWATER RAFTING TIME!!! We met up w/ other adventure seekers in front of McDonalds along divisoria...woohoo!!! i just learned that the right side of cagayan river is already Bukidnon...so technically kaabot nako sa Bukidnon...hehe! Adrenalin rush started to kick in as soon as we reached the first rapid...na disgrace ako beauty coz natumba ko-at least dili sa tubig...tagbaw!

We also had the chance to dive into the water.  It was sooo much fun as this was a first for me...beachbum turns riverbum for a day...haha! with matching coreograph pa - klaro na kayo kinsa gamugna noh???hehe

This is a must try in CDO...takes about 3 hours to pass 14 rapids ...grabeh the best ang site seeing...takes ur breath away!!!

**View from the top...last look (for now) sa CDO

Chada jud ang CDO bai!!!

for everyone

I'm a true blooded Cebuana-we'll my dad's from Bohol and transferred here when he was 8 years old..perhaps this explains my addiction to beaches...anyway, since I'm free most of my time when I am not at work (i decided not to enrol for summer classes) - i sleep a lot in my room...well at least i try to...I'm so used of just sleeping an average of 3 hrs a day last sem...so i always make it a point NOT to spend my weekends hibernating - summer could be over for all i know...last Sunday, i (w/ my officemates) toured one of our big boss from the states some spots here in Cebu...funny thing was that there were some places that i had never been to...weird ey?  sometimes we tend to take things for granted even these places are just w/in ur boundaries...Itinerary:Parian Heritage Monument, Sto Nino, Fort San Pero, Casa Gorordo, STK (sutukil), Magellan's Shrine, Shangrila, Plantation Bay, and Taoist Temple...we were supposed to go to Balamban but our boss was already too tired since it was really hot on that day...boohoo!  Moving forward, here are some pictures i took on our trip...

1. Parian Heritage Monument: The monument celebrates key historic events in the island (this is found in colon - the oldest street in the Philippines)

2. Casa Gorordo-originally belonged to Gorordo family whose most illustrious member , Juan Gorordo, became the 1st Filipino archbishop of Cebu.  By the way, visitors are not allowed to take pictures inside the house but i just couldn't resist to take one...hehe:)

3. Basilica de Sto. Nino-"holy Child of Jesus", one of the oldest churches in the Philippines.  A lot of devotees come here forming long queues to pay respect to their beloved Sto. Nino especially during Fridays.  One of the biggest events happen during the 3rd Sunday of January - the ever popular Sinulog (feast of Cebu)!

Cebu is well known for its fine guitars - best are found in Opon (lapu-lapu).  The appointments and wood are all nice looking and for the most part, they use solid wood instead of plywood.  Since Cebu is a sea port, they also have access to abalone and maother of pearl, thus explaining those great decorations.

4. Fort San Pedro-artifacts taken from the old Spanish Galleon known as San Diego are on display on this centuries-old Fort.  A monument to Cebu's turbulent past.  It served as the nucleus of the first Spanish settlement in the Philippines. PS: dont you love our umbrella's? summer na summer ang dating...hehe

5. SuTuKil-we headed to Mactan for our lunch and ate at Sutukil.  Sutukil is a portmanteau of the 3 ways fish are cooked in eateries near the Mactan Shrine: SU is for Sugba (grilled), TU is for Tula (prepared in a soup), KI is for Kilaw (or turned into a raw fish salad).  Restaurants let you choose whatever you want cooked from stalls of fresh fish, prawns, crabs, seaweeds, shells, clams, and even lobsters for very affordable prices.  YUM-O!

6. Mactan Shrine-This is where the Lapu-lapu and his men triumphed over the Spanish invaders on April 27, 1521.  The shrine is host to the annual Kadaugan sa Mactan- and guess what? This Sunday would be it!  Manny Pacquiao will play Cebu's hero, lapu-lapu, and Dennis Trillio will play the role of Portuguese conqueror, Magellan.  By the way, i so0o love this huge painting placed near the area...depicts a lot of cebu's culture!

7. Cebu is located in the center of the Philippines surrounded by neighboring smaller lands that includes Mactan Is., Bantayan, Olanggo, Malapascua, and Camotes Is.  It is the country's  "Queen City of the South" where the world's business and leisure go hand in hand.  It is famous for its narrow coastline and limestone plateaus, all characteristics of a tropical island.  We stopped by at Shangri-la and Plantation bay (photo above).

8. Taoist Temple-located in the wealthy residential suburb of Beverly Hills.  It was built  by Cebu's Substantial Chinese Community.  You can see Taoist devotees on Wednesdays and Sundays, as they climb up the 99 steps of the temple to light joss sticks and have their fortunes read by monks.  The temple has an e;evation of 300 meters above sea level and you' ll be rewarded with a good view of cebu City and in the distance Mactan and Bohol Islands.

***from the city life to the beaches to the mountains -  we conquered it in our 1 day trip!**

Blog EntryLYRA...as defined by experts ;0)Feb 9, '08 12:57 AM
for everyone

L Y R A (li'ra)

(takes 2 to tango but 3 to make a star...thanks Jac and Dhitz for ur cooperation...hehe)

SCI-TECH ENCYCLOPEDIA:

The Lyre, in astronomy, a summer constellation, small but important. Lyra has a first-magnitude star, Vega, a navigational star and the most brilliant star in this part of the sky. Vega forms, with two faintstars to the east, an almost perfect equilateral triangle. The southern one in turn forms, with three brighter stars to the south, an approximate parallelogram. The resulting overall figure resembles a tortoise more than a stringed musical instrument.

MUSIC ENCYCLOPEDIA:

A term used for various instruments, most often string instruments. In army bands a lyra is a portable glockenspiel consisting of a lyre-shaped metal frame to which are attached tuned metal bars in the conventional two rows for diatonic and chromatic notes (see Bell-lyra). The terms ‘lyra’ and ‘lira’ in medieval and Renaissance writings designated various string instruments of the time (Lira de Braccio, Lirone and Lyra viol) as well as the ancient Greek lyre, but seldom members of the zither family. The term is also used for a short-necked Greek fiddle.

COLUMBIA ENCYCLOPEDIA:

[Lat.,=the lyre], northern constellation lying S of Draco, E of Hercules, and W of Cygnus. Although many civilizations represented it as a bird, it was also depicted as a tortoise. The white star  Vega (Alpha Lyrae), the brightest star in the constellation, is one of the brightest in the entire sky. Just NE of Vega is Epsilon Lyrae, one of the few double stars that can be resolved with the naked eye. Also in Lyra is the Ring Nebula, the most famous of the planetary nebulae, consisting of a shell of gas separated from and expanding from a central star. Lyra reaches its highest point in the evening sky in August.

Blog Entryand the countdown begins for ----- SINULOG!!!Jan 9, '08 3:58 AM
for everyone

Sinulog has been the biggest event here in Cebu...for me it's bigger than Christmas and New Year combined!!!  People from different walks of life come here to celebrate this festive occasion of our patron saint - the child Jesus, Sto. Nino...

The feast goes on for 9 days...but the grandest of them all will be on the 3rd Sunday of January...this is when the street parade happens!!!

so here are some pics i took last year and some tips u might find helpful ;0)

********

Rain or shine...nothing can keep the people from going to the Basilica del Sto. Nino to pay homage to our saint...can it get any crowded than this??? so i suggest you guys should go 2 the basilica way early -- like 4am..or probably earlier than that...

the streets can really get crazy with all the people walking around everywhere...worst of the worst ang traffic s0 if naay kaila sa city - specifically near the celebration...ok if adto mo park sa car...enjoy to the max magHHWW (holding hands wyl walking..hmm? para dili mawala bahhh) and if walay kaholding hands -  pagwalking nlng...LOL!!! it would be very convenient also if you get a place to stay para if di keri na ang kakapoy then u can just rest whenever u want to..BUT unfortunately FULLY BOOKED na tanan hotels/ suites as of Dec..so congrats if makakuha pka ron na time...this is a pic i took from the hotel we stayed last year sa Golden Prince...and i couldn't agree more of what the sign says...

Since the hotel was just a 2minute walk from Ayala...so of course we went to the mall to check some stuff out...and grabeh kaoverpopulated ang mall...waaahhhhh!!! if naa mo balak makigpag-eyeball...goodluck! LOL

and of course the celebration will never end without the fireworks display...aside sa mga hotels...the grandest will be made in Abellana Sports Complex then sa Ayala Business Park...and bawal ang magpaduol maayo kay mapuling mo...i should know--biktima ko ani pirmi..hahaha...this was taken at @ Ayala Football Grounds around 9pm

for detailed info for this year's celebration, log on to: http://www.byahilo.com/2007/12/10/sinulog-festival-2008-schedule-of-activities-2/
